Pinakiano is a small village in the Lasithi regional unit on the island of Crete, Greece. It is part of the Lagou community within the Municipality of Oropedio Lasithiou (Lasithi Plateau). The village is situated at an altitude of 830 meters.
Pinakiano has three churches: the Church of the Entry of the Theotokos, the Church of Agios Titos, and the Church of Afendi Christos (located in the cemetery). The village also has a taverna, a cafe, and a cultural association.
History
Pinakiano is one of the newer villages in the Lasithi Plateau. It is not mentioned in the Venetian censuses of the 16th century or the Ottoman census of 1671. The first recorded reference to Pinakiano is in the 1834 Egyptian census, which lists it together with Lagou as having 20 Christian families. In the 1881 census, Pinakiano and Lagou were part of the municipality of Tzermiado with a combined population of 141 inhabitants.
