The Sacred Monastery of Arkadi: A Beacon of Faith and Freedom in Crete

This act of defiance became a rallying cry for the Cretan resistance and is commemorated annually on November 8th.

Today, seven monks reside at Arkadi Monastery, upholding the traditions of the Orthodox Church and welcoming visitors who come to pay their respects.
