As part of the 4th Festival of Crete, the Region of Crete and the Municipality of Hersonissos present a grand concert titled “Ode to the Moon,” featuring the iconic Greek singer Maria Farantouri. This unique event will be held under the glow of the full moon at the captivating Archaeological Site of Malia, offering a truly magical setting for an unforgettable night of music and culture.

A Musical Tribute to the Moon

Maria Farantouri describes the concert as a dedication “to the moon, the beautiful Greek moon of August, which inspires poets, musicians, illuminates the beautiful nights, our loves, our sensitivity.” The performance will showcase a selection of songs written, inspired by, and sung about the moon by celebrated Greek composers, poets, and performers.
