The 1st “Cycle of Culture” Festival continues its captivating journey through the archaeological and cultural riches of Minoa Pediada. The next stop is Thrapsano on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024, where the spotlight will shine on the iconic Cretan pithari.

Uncover the Secrets of the Pithari

Join us at the picturesque Livades Grove (Thrapsano Lake) for an enlightening evening dedicated to this enduring symbol of abundance and self-sufficiency. Dr. Samantha Ximeri, archaeologist, will delve into the history and significance of the pithari in a captivating lecture. Afterward, children can participate in a hands-on educational program, learning the art of crafting xomplia (clay stoppers) for these traditional vessels.
