Speaker: Antonis Kotsonas, Associate Professor of Mediterranean History and Archaeology at the University of New York and co-director of the excavation at ancient Lyttos.

Join us for a presentation by one of the most renowned experts on Archaic Crete, who is at the forefront of research, excavating Archaic Lyttos and bringing to light new finds.

• What is the significance of the Archaic period for the history of Crete and why has it remained in the shadow of the Minoan period?
• What are the aims and findings of the excavation at Lyttos and how do they contribute to revising the image we have of the world of Archaic Crete?
