After a year’s hiatus, the Festos Run returns on Sunday, September 29th, 2024, inviting runners to embark on a journey through the heart of Crete’s rich cultural heritage.

Starting at the awe-inspiring archaeological site of Phaistos, a major center of Minoan civilization, participants will traverse a route that winds through picturesque landscapes and ancient landmarks.

• Phaistos Archaeological Site: The starting point of the race, this ancient palace is a testament to the Minoan civilization’s architectural and artistic achievements.
• Agios Georgios Falandras Monastery: Although now in ruins, this Venetian-era monastery offers a glimpse into Crete’s religious past.
• Church of Saint Paul: Tradition holds that the Apostle Paul preached at this 13th-century church, built on the site of an early Christian baptistery.
• Kamilari Village: This charming village is home to several historical treasures, including a Roman graveyard and a tholos tomb dating back to 1900 BC.
